N ot the oldest Online Service, but certianly "one of" the oldest -- Xpresit Net was originally created by Time Warrior (Dave Kelso) and The Third Rail (Tony Coppeletta) in protest of the counter-productive internal politics within Fidonet.

  • Your preferred Telnet Software (we suggest SyncTerm)
  • Whatever News Reader you like using (we suggest Xnews)

  • Via Your Cellular Phone (email)
  • Gopher (read only - PRINTER FRIENDLY!)

.: Webmasters :.

If you maintain your own website, you can join Xpresit Net to provide your users with guarenteed quality content -- as encouragement to create an account and use your site. As far as we know thus far, this will require you to run phpBB (v2 or lower) or SMF (v1.1.6 or lower).

  • Newssync for phpBB v2 & lower [ download ]
  • NNTP Syndicate for SMF v1.1.6 & lower [ download ]

If you run your own home office server, then depending on what platform you are using, you can obtain a feed to this network through one of the following ways:

  • Qnet-FTP (Synchronet / Wildcat & compatible)
  • FTN (MSG, JAM, Squish or any FTN-compatible Message Base Format)
  • NNTP (Multi-protocol BBS Servers / News Servers)
  • Dialup BBS (D'Bridge, Intermail, Frontdoor or Compatible)

Social Events

Every summer (and if you live in or will be vacationing in the Chicagoland Area) we hold an Annual Gathering in the form of a BBQ. Even if you will not be attending (or can't attend) -- we still have plenty of pictures and video for your viewing pleasure, from 1997 to date!
